The Irish Nephrology Society (INS) is a member of Health Research Charities Ireland (HRCI) that participates in theHRCI/HRB Joint Funding Scheme. The scheme funds internationally competitive and innovative research in areas of strategic relevance to the INS. If more than one grant is approved for funding by the HRB these will be funded in order of ranking to a total value of €200,000.
The Irish Nephrology Society has supported Irish researchers in the study of kidney disease since its inception. Many of the Nephrology leaders in this country have passed through fellowship programmes supported by externally-sponsored funds administered through the Society. The work performed during these fellowships has led to new discoveries about the causes of kidney disease and better treatments for affected patients. We therefore continue to value and promote:
Information for Applicants
Please submit an expression of interest to the INS secretary Dr Catherine Brown (CatherineM.Brown@hse.ie). This should be at most 2 pages in length (max 11 font, normal margins). This will be assessed internally by the INS, with strong public and patient input through the Irish Kidney Association, for eligibility and adherence to the strategic goals of the society as outlined above. In particular, applicants to the Joint Funding Scheme must address their approach to the following strategic principles:
